NBA 2K18 Best Archetypes
There are no set Archetypes that you can just jump in and start using them. You need to create them yourself using your Primary and Secondary skill. These skills vary from being set for specific actions such as shooting or defending or could be more general in nature.
For setting up the Archetype, the first thing you need to decide is what your preference for the desired player is. Start this by selecting a player position. There are numerous positions in which you can play and each position will have their own requirements.
You can either select a Center, Power Forward, Small Forward, Shooting Guard and Point Guard. You can choose any of these five positions to suit your game.
Once you have determined the player’s location, your next step is to find your desired play style. Here you must be aware of different badges that are displayed on the right side of the screen. Badges give boosts to your certain attributes and abilities and you earn them by playing on specific positions.
You cannot earn any other badge, which is for any other location where you are not playing.
To finalize your Archetype, you need to set two skills. First is the Primary skill while the other one is the Secondary skill. Here you must decide first that you want to build a pure archetype or a mixed archetype.
Pure Archetype is built specifically for certain jobs such as if you choose 3PT Shooter as your primary and secondary skill then the build is going to be a solid shooter with attributes, badges, and skills all set to benefit the shooting.
Similarly choosing Defending as your primary and secondary skill will create a build, which specializes in Defending but is weaker in other aspects. If you want to build a Pure Archetype, set both skills the same as the other. You can also build mixed Archetypes by selecting different Primary and Secondary skills. Again, this all boils down to your personal preferences.
To choose mixed Archetype players, you can have the build of your choice who is good at various things and not just one thing. You can combine skills such 3PT Shooting and Shot Creating to create a build that excels in shooting as well as lining up the perfect shots.
Similarly, you can select Defending and Passing & Ball Handling together to build a character that is good at defending as well as handling the ball around the field with good dribbles and passing.
In the end, it all comes to your personal preferences that how you want to build the best Archetype Character suited to your game style and need. Figure that out and you will find plenty of options to choose from when selecting the Archetype as NBA 2K18 has 186 different Archetypes from which you can choose the one best suited for you.
