Here’s Five Characters We Think Could Be In The Avengers

Considering who they’re going to be up against in the next few Marvel movies, it’s no secret that the Avengers could use some reinforcements, and video games have a lot of different characters that could be a valuable addition to the group. Here’s five particular ones that we think would be good.

1. Master Chief John-117

As someone specifically created to be the ultimate super-soldier much like Captain America, the Master Chief is well-experienced at fighting godlike alien entities, such as the Flood or the Didact. With over a thousand Covenant kills to his name, artificially strengthened bones, heightened speed and reflexes, and state-of-the-art armor, the Chief would be a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield even without his combat skills.

He’s also got the emotional baggage that every Avenger seems to have, as he deals with the loss of Cortana (and her turning evil) and the aftermath of nearly every SPARTAN-II aside from him and Blue Team dying, the fact that the Chief is still stable is definitely something to be proud of.

2. Commander Shepard

Another highly specialized alien-fighter, Commander Shepard has the added bonus of also being able to fill in a variety of roles depending on the class that he’s a part of in the Mass Effect games. Whether he’s a run-of-the-mill Soldier with great combat skills, an Adept or Vanguard with biotic powers, or an Engineer with his own set of Alliance-supplied power armor, Shepard could fill any role that’s open in the Avengers.

Much like Iron Man, Shepard also has a team of other friends that he can count on, over a dozen in fact; if Shepard calls all of the different teammates that he’s fought with across three different games, they can make up an Avengers team of their own; they even have a cool mode of transportation in the form of the Normandy.

3. Tyrael

Considering that Thor is an integral part of the Avengers, it’s only fitting that we get another heavenly figure coming to help in the name of justice, and who better to do it than the Archangel of Justice himself? Tyrael has often been characterized as a protector of humanity, enough that he was willing to become human to fight against the legions of the Burning Hells. With his flight powers, wisdom, immortality, literal countless years of combat experience against the legions of Hell, and his magical sword, Tyrael has fought things far worse than Thanos and managed to come out on top.

4. Solid Snake

As someone who is originally a clone of what many people call the greatest soldier in history, it’s no surprise that someone as stealthy, good in all sorts of combat, and skilled with intrigue would be a good Avenger. Having fought against helicopters and tanks and giant robots on foot, ninjas with cloaking technology, evil clones, and more, Solid Snake would probably think that aliens are something entirely run of the mill by this point.

5. Cloud Strife

As one of the most well-known Final Fantasy characters with a lot of power in every swing of his sword, Cloud Strife is a fitting fifth character to join in with the Avengers. With his augmented human body and therefore increased reflexes, strength, speed, and other stats, not to mention his abilities with the Buster Sword, Cloud could do a lot more than someone like Iron Man might think. He can block bullets, battle giant monsters and robots, fight nearly godlike entities, and even, as we can see in Advent Children, fly to a limited extent.

Whether you agree with all of these different heroes being good Avengers or not is all up to you, but there are a lot of different video game characters out there. Do you think that there are other video game characters that would be great Avengers? Let us know in the comments.
